visibility and usability of Doge
« on: December 24, 2013, 11:11:55 AM »
I'm typing this and realizing it's a bit of a rant, please bear with me, I apologize in advance, I'm not an English major, but I'll try to change colors of key points to help zero in.
one of the things that I feel (I'm not expert) will greatly help doge is to get it accepted as currency with stores (online and physical.)  right now it seems like the only thing to do with it is gamble, and buy snails.  Gambling has a pretty big following, snails do not, but it's awesome to have someone willing to accept it (not knocking snails, I'm very thankful that they have adopted doge!).  if Doge gets branded as just a gambling currency it will get a negative stigma and cause it to be harder to accept.  Is there already a plugin to tip doge with a paste of an address and click of a button?    also we may want to try and start asking people if they have considered accepting doge, yes its a bit volatile right now, but  a big push to that and just getting the doge coin image out there I think will be a big help.  I think it will definitely help bridge a gap because right now I think it will get the perception that I'm paying "real money" for something that only has value when I trade it for other "real money.  if we can tie this to real goods and services people will start to see this as "real money" that they can transfer quickly remain anonymous and don't have to worry about getting a card number and their identity stolen (provided they have adequate wallet security)

sorry for the rant, can we compile a list of sites that accept doge as payment?

IE (I have no affiliation to them, just an example of an early adopter)

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Not quite certain what we are to do in order to fix this, however.
