We need exchanges like bitstamp. Dogestamp:)
You want to get Doge to the moon? One of the best ways to do this would be to sign a petition and send it to Valve and ask them to accept dogecoin in their marketplace. It is a perfect fit since a majority of the people on their network are young and are the type of people you find buying/trading cash/items for games like TF2 and such. Include dogecoin into the mix and now you'll have Doge going everywhere, adding millions more to the pool of doge owners. Then you just educate those users about how doge can be used elsewhere then just Valve's marketplace on Steam, you'll have a huge growth rate.Of course when I think of something like this, it just makes me wonder when Amazon will release their own cryptocurrency, considering they already have their own 'coins' for use in their app store. How long until they make it apply to their whole online store? And if Amazon starts accepting their own coin for retail purchases, everyone else will follow cause Amazon is the king of online retail. When everyone else follows, the majority of coins out there will instantly be worthless. This just makes me much sad
Oh I absolutely agree. I was not stating that it would be realistic that Valve would accept Dogecoin, it was just a fictional piece to go along with "to the moon." It would be more realistic to see companies like Amazon and Valve create their own cryptocurrency. It is correct that would counter the whole freedom/trust of the currency, however when you have companies that are able to herd millions of people toward a general direction, the majority of that herd would not care or know the difference. Stating my theory again, Amazon already has their 'coin' for use in the app store on their Kindle. There is nothing stopping them from extending this coin to be used across their whole site. If they did this, you would certainly see other online retailers looking to also accept the coin (and by accepting the coin I mean the company, let us use Walmart as an example, may instead just exchange the currency to USD only after a purchase has been made and selling it back to Amazon instead of having their own reserve of coins that would promote it). Again, this is just my theory and there really is no indication as to what would happen if it did. The majority of people thought Bitcoin was nothing more than a joke (I sure do regret missing that mining boat) and look how that turned out. I am not criticizing anyone for their own theories and I am not stating that anyone is wrong or I am right, so please do not take offense to my post.
