I get 8-10 connections without doing anything to my wallet. Why would I do this? Does it speed up the transactions or?
Some of what I listed is likely unnecessary. For example, if you use Windows Firewall, then the Dogecoin program likely automatically makes an exception for it. If you don't have a router or if you have UPnP enabled, then you don't have to forward ports. It could be that the dogecoin.conf is entirely unnecessary, but now that I have it working, I haven't tested further.If you already get 9 or more connections, then you have nothing to gain by doing anything I've listed. I recommend leaving things as they are.
