Dogewallet experience such paraphrase crash wow
« on: December 18, 2013, 08:12:03 PM »
Running on Windows 7 64bit. No problem mining/sending/receiving, just encrypting. Everytime I try to encrypt my wallet with a paraphrase I get an error message saying a solution is being sent to microsoft. The weird thing is, I just installed the dogecoin wallet qt / cudaminer on my friends same exact ASUS gaming laptop. Literally same specs, identical machines. Funny thing is, the command script for my NVIDIA mining .bat file didn't work on his computer, but worked on mine. His wallet encryption works on his machine, but my wallet encryption bugs out. VERY CONFIZZLED. I've even re-DL'd the dogecoin qt wallet, as I did for my friends (thought mine was out of date) but still no success. All of my dogecoins synced back into my wallet perfectly fine on the reinstall but still no success with encryption. Makes me tear a bit. sniffle sniffle ruff ruff qq qq

Thanks for bringing this up. I've notified the lead developer and he's working on a solution to the problem. In the meantime just make sure you keep a backup copy of your wallet in a secure location and you should be fine.

I have a question about this: Someone stole my wallet.dat. I replace it with my backup. Will my coins still be there?

If someone stole your wallet.dat file you better hope its encrypted. If not, they might have some fun. If its encrypted, your golden. Load your old wallet.dat file into APPdata/roaming/Dogecoin , restart dogecoin qt. Already had to switch computers and it worked fine. GL
