So I've been mining doge with my iMac (I know they have airflow problems but I bump up the fans a bit) and it's been going steadily at 100 kh/s after some tweaking. I've been having a slight problem though, when the display turns off cgminer slows down or completely shuts off. I know this because when I check the hashing speed it's gone down to around 50-60. Anyone know a solution to this?
solution :: build windows machine
I've had problems with cgminer when my PCs try to turn off their monitors too. I usually just change the setting in the OS so that they never tell the monitor to turn off. If you manually turn the monitor off does cgminer still slow down?
I'm running Windows on it. Thing is, I can't actually manually turn off the monitor since it's an all in one. Turning off the monitor manually means turning off the computer. Oh well, guess I'll just put on a blank screensaver or something.
Ohh, I see. Yeah your best bet would be to set the screen to never turn off. You could try lowering the brightness when you're not using it, that way it saves a bit of power too!
