mining query
« on: December 16, 2013, 02:54:09 PM »
Hey Guys,

So my DOGE journey has started 2 days ago when I installed cgminer on my mac and started on the coinedup pool.

In about 5-6 hours I accumulated 1500 DOGEs. Then I noticed that pool was getting very slow and somehow I wasn't getting anywhere anymore.. So i switched to a different pool. The Webcass one, which seems to run but ALOT slower than my first pool. Now I'm wondering whether this is normal?

My mining set-up;
2 droplets at digital ocean running cpuminer both at about 5-6 khash/s
1 macbook pro running cgminer at about 30khash/s

Now I'm not really retting much DOGO more than about 20 /hr.

Can anyone explain when I should get paid in DOGE's and why I'm running my workers but not seeing any return so far..

As more and more people mine DOGE it becomes more difficult to get them. Also since its random rewards 0-1,000,000 per block the lest often you get rewards due to increasing difficulty the more variance there is in your reward.

Pick pools with a high hash rate 50MH+ anything lower than that and your payouts will be too sporadic to get any real sense of what you are earning. You will earn the same on any pool, but if your hash rate is low you are hurt more by the variance in rewards.
